Architecture is the art of designing habitable structures.Other existing definitions of the term have been advanced by several experts, one of the simpler definitions being the design of buildings that is executed by architects. However, there is much more to this. Expression of thought in building is incorporated as an appropriate definition, that comprises of more than just construction or piling of building blocks, or even the spanning of spaces with steel grinders. Architecture constitutes the intelligent creation of forms and spaces which express ideas by themselves. Indestructible materials were first utilized by mankind in the construction of structures for worship as opposed to structures for inhabiting. From the onset of settled human habitation about the 10th Cen tury until the rise of the Roman Empire, mankind made houses from the flimsiest materials that were ever expected to outlive the people who inhabited them.What was called templum and aedes by Vitruvius was called temenos and naos or oikos by the Greek. Naos, the temple building proper, was the dominant building type for the Greece. It is because its most prominent feature; the column and beam were developed in the Greek temples as the core of their architectural practice as well as thinking. The naos also dominated the fabric of the city. The architect stated that he established these methods and went ahead to explain the intentions of the builders. The temple was spaced in line with the human body in a bid to establish the correlation that exists between the human figure and the world fabrics geometry. To be specific, the male human figure was used as the model of the Doric column.Interiority is a term used to define what an interior space is. This space can either be physical, arc hitectural space or invisible imaginary space. It means that for mankind to understand how natural space helps to create any interior closure, the five senses being sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing are crucial. The concepts of place, atmosphere and shelter have been identified as major contributions to the world of interior space. A lot of definitions perceive interior architecture, also referred to as interior design or simply interiors as only being present in the architectural context.
